Lubbock Chief Accountant 42368BR Student Business Services Position Description Performs highly responsible accounting functions according to established procedures, requiring knowledge of complex accounting systems; responsible for assembly and analysis of data; works under general supervision with latitude for technical judgment. May supervise subordinate employees. Major/Essential Functions Manage Student Benefits and Reconciliations: Oversee reconciliations for third-party contracts, exemptions, waivers, and benefits on a monthly, semesterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated professional excellence in verbal and written communication, time management, accounting or analytical procedures, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills and decision-making. General knowledge of higher education administration. Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting and student financial transactions. Ability to learn complex information systems and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a finance field required plus four years experience, preferably in a college or university environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced, higher education environment, working with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and working in TTU specific systems (Banner, FiTS, TechBuy, Cognos, etc.). Experience delivering customer service both in person and via email/phone using excellent communication skills. Ability to listen, research, and come to conclusion based on results of research.
