IT Category Manager

YOUR ROLE

Aptiv is currently searching for an IT Category Manager to be part of their Indirect IT Category team. This person will work closely with cross functional teams and key stakeholders to drive effective sourcing strategy to deliver the best outcome for Aptiv. Key responsibilities will include leading the effective execution of the category management strategies, conducting commercial and contractual negotiations, stakeholder and supplier risk management. Successful candidate will be required to have the necessary experience, category knowledge, skills and capabilities to deliver on strategic objectives.

In your daily job you will:

• Supporting successful development and execution of IT Category Strategy that is reflective of organizational goals.

• Leading strategic sourcing activities to deliver optimal value.

• Negotiation of commercial agreements to ensure compliance with Aptiv's standards.

• Development and maintenance of strong relationships with internal stakeholders, enabling better understanding of their business objectives.

• Work with cross functional organizations in the delivery of strategic sourcing requirements.

• Continuous monitoring of internal customers and supply markets for changes that may impact the sourcing strategy.

• Financial performance monitoring of category vs prior year and baseline basis.

• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to advance value add of Indirect sourcing organization.

• Supplier relationship management to ensure continuity of supply and risk management.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

• Prior experience in a similar global role sourcing IT Hardware, Network, Telco and/or Cloud services (5+ years)

• Good understanding of commercial agreement

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced matrixed environment

• Knowledge of the best sourcing practices and the methodologies used for this category of IT supplier /partner

• Strong commercial negotiation skills

• Strong analytical skills required

• Strong relationship and interpersonal skills to be applied in working with partners across the entire contract life cycle

• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills

• Highly driven and motivated

PREFERRED

• Masters Degree in Business or equivalent

• Supply Chain qualifications (e.g. CIPS, IIPMM)

• Experience using Ariba would be an advantage
