Job Duties:
Responsibilities: 75% teaching (generally instructing 3 courses per semester (fall, spring, summer) in a 100% online program with asynchronous and synchronous components), typically including:
- one 3-credit course (core courses in the MSL program (https://sports-leadership.education.wisc.edu/)
- 3-credit capstone course (777)
- 3-credit field course (700)
25% in-person program support, including engagement and partnership/relationship building/sustaining with the UW Athletics department, K-12 schools, other colleges and universities, and other sports entities for field placements Note: This is a hybrid position that can be primarily remote, with in-person attendance required for some department meetings and other events. A touchdown office space will be provided in the Education Building (Madison, Wisconsin) as needed for meetings, events, and occasional in-office work.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
- Supervises the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
- Works with faculty to identify and develop new methods of advancing instruction in the discipline
- Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
- Assists in development of grant proposals for funding of model instruction programs
- Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy and may train other staff in use of these techniques
- May make presentations to faculty and to staff members on instructional programs and techniques
- Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements

- School of Education / Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA) / Master's in Sports Leadership (MSL) program
Compensation:
- Minimum $75,000 annually

- Expertise/ability to teach core courses in the MSL program (https://sports-leadership.education.wisc.edu/)
- Experience successfully building and sustaining partnerships and relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates with expertise in the psychology of coaching or similar topics are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with experience instructing classes online at the graduate level are encouraged to apply.
Education:
- PhD or other terminal degree required
