TheDuke Cancer Institute (DCI)is seeking passionate and driven recent graduates to join our team asCancer Research Traineesthrough theDIRECT (Diversifying Research and Experiential Learning in Cancer Training)program, a 12-month immersive experience supported by the Emerson Collective.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cancer research, professional development, and science communication. You'll work closely with mentors, contribute to impactful research, and develop the skills needed to thrive in the cancer research workforce. Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree earned by June 2025
• Record of superior academic achievement (e.g., GPA, honors, or other distinctions)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated interest in cancer research or biomedical sciences
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with scientific writing or presentations is a plus
