Summary

The Services Operations Systems & Tools Team is seeking an experienced Technical Architect to support the evolving systems and tools landscape for the Public Sector. This role is responsible for designing and leading the delivery of complex, scalable Salesforce solutions that enhance internal operations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Salesforce administration, configuration, and customization, with experience spanning Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, APIs, mobile development, AI, and integration/ETL technologies. They are comfortable working on large, technical projects and supporting both standard and custom-built tools.

In this role, the Technical Architect will partner with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, define future-state processes, develop and validate technical use cases, gather requirements, and deliver system enhancements. They will also be involved in configuring, prototyping, and testing new features while ensuring seamless integration with external systems. A strong understanding of scalable system design, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams is essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand strategic objectives, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

  • Lead technical design sessions, architect and document robust Salesforce solutions, and identify gaps between current capabilities and desired end states.

  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain Salesforce applications, ensuring high-quality technical delivery across custom development, system integrations, and data migrations.

  • Integrate Salesforce with third-party platforms and external data sources, leveraging APIs and middleware as needed.

  • Establish and uphold coding standards; conduct and lead code reviews to ensure best practices, maintainable design patterns, and overall solution quality.

  • Monitor and maintain the performance of Salesforce applications, troubleshoot technical issues, and execute thorough testing and debugging.

  • Design and implement process automation using Salesforce tools such as Flow, Process Builder, and Workflow Rules to drive operational efficiency.

  • Support the deployment of Salesforce releases, enhancements, and environment updates, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal business disruption.

  • Lead and manage the DevOps process, including environment management, CI/CD pipeline setup, automated testing, and automated deployments to ensure high-quality, efficient, and secure deployments across development and production environments.

  • Mentor and guide Salesforce developers by providing technical leadership, code reviews, feedback, and support to ensure skill growth and high-quality development that aligns with industry best practices.

  • Stay up to date with Salesforce platform updates, best practices, and emerging industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

  • Communicate effectively with global teams, providing clear updates on progress, accomplishments, and potential roadblocks.

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Architects, and Product Owners to define requirements, validate solution designs, and develop enablement and testing materials.

  • Act as a liaison with Salesforce product teams to support solution delivery, issue resolution, and platform enhancements.

Required Experience / Expertise / Skills

  • Over 10 years of experience in CRM solutions, with at least 6 years specializing in the Salesforce platform.

  • Proven expertise in designing and developing large-scale, web-based systems with comprehensive exposure to the full software development lifecycle.

  • Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture with the ability to design scalable, high-performance solutions.

  • Proficient in key design patterns, handling large data volumes, and applying platform best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of data sharing, visibility models, and their architectural implications within Salesforce.

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Lightning components, Apex programming, and Visualforce development.

  • Familiar with Salesforce Einstein Analytics and AI-driven features to enhance platform intelligence and automation.

  • Skilled in Salesforce integration using APIs (REST, SOAP, etc.) and third-party tools.

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (required); additional certifications such as Platform Developer II or Salesforce Administrator are highly desirable.

  • Proficient in version control systems such as Git, with a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines tailored for Salesforce.

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud computing concepts and the broader Salesforce product suite.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with a proactive approach to learning new technologies, business processes, and development frameworks.

  • Experienced in environment and release management, source control strategies, and deployment best practices.

  • Adept at working within Agile development environments and cross-functional teams.

Desired Experience / Expertise / Skills
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator and Advanced Administrator with hands-on product experience.

  • Strong familiarity with CRM systems, data management practices, and Certinia's PSA (PS Cloud) and financial tools.

  • Proven experience in customer-facing consulting roles, delivering value through tailored Salesforce solutions.

  • Background in Sales Operations and/or Professional Services, with a solid understanding of operational workflows and business processes.

  • Practical experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) systems, and systems integration.

  • Skilled in developing comprehensive documentation, including use cases, user stories, and both business and technical requirements.

  • Adept at collaborating across cross-functional teams-bridging business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, prototype solutions, conduct testing, and support successful solution delivery and user adoption.

For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $141,300 to $194,300. For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $141,300 to $194,300.
