Key Position Details:

  • Hybrid position - time spent onsite will be at the Allina Commons in Minneapolis, MN or traveling to hospitals within the system
  • Focus of this role will be on innovation and evidence-based practice as well as additional Nursing Professional Development responsibilities
  • Master's degree or Doctorate degree preferred
  • Full time position (80 hours every two-week pay period)
  • 8-hour, day shifts typically - will require one or two evenings per month
  • No scheduled weekends

Job Description:

Leads facilitates and coordinates strategic and operational processes to support the ongoing management and growth of Nursing Professional Development Programs. Supports concept design, strategic planning, and business development for new program and services. Supports nursing professional development including coordination of initiatives, management of existing programs and services and operational reporting.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Development of current and new clinical programs and services
    • Develop and execute strategic planning and business development for programs and services
    • Provides oversight for the implementation of new and existing programs and services
    • Coordinates development activities in the department
    • Partner with leadership to plan, implement and manage operational initiatives and tactical plans, tracking operations performance against key performance indicators
    • Complete dashboards and reporting templates to highlight performance including variances
    • Develop business plans for new programs, services an markets or to enhance existing programs in order to enhance clinical practice
    • Conduct best practice research, industry trends and market analysis to support clinical practice
    • Summarize analyses, conclusions and recommendations in the form of business plans and supporting presentation documents
    • Manage relationships with key partners to gain confidence and engagement in strategic and operational initiatives
    • Participate in decision making activities with executive management, internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and implement programs and services
    • Assure local and system-wide implementation of established guidelines, policies and procedures
    • Work with staff and physicians to develop and implement objectives for the provision of safe and effective patient care
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures and make recommendations for change
    • Identify and recommend opportunities to impact performance trends favorably
    • Facilitate education to the staff, patients, families and public as needed
  • Support patient care and employee development
    • Lead staff in development of systems and process that support professional development including clinical practice
    • Participates in clinical rounds to facilitate linkages between care areas
    • Identifies opportunities for efficiencies and quality of clinical care
    • Provides feedback on hiring, orientation, educational programs and performance
  • Manages projects and performance improvement initiatives
    • Manage multiple performance improvement initiatives
    • Provides performance improvement methodology to design solutions
    • Serves as an educator for performance improvement processes
    • Performs data collection and analysis
    • Complete process flow analysis with input from key stakeholders
    • Identifies performance improvement opportunities and assist in design solutions
    • Develop key performance indicators and measures
    • Formulate and present deliverables to executive management and internal and external stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • 5+ years in nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • 0 to 2 years in program development

Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required or
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required
  • NPD Certification preferred

Pay Range

Pay Range: $45.40 to $62.82 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
