Description
Partner with HR director to develop, implement, administer, and maintain benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensure programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective. Develops benefits communications and counsels' employees on benefits related issues. Evaluate existing benefit programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends, and developments. Works with Human Resources director to develop strategic objectives for the benefits function. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- Must possess knowledge of employment and benefit laws; human resources processes, and employee benefits normally acquired through completion of a four-year degree in human resources management or business-related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Seven years of progressive experience in human resources including benefits administration.

- Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
- Required to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
- Human Resources Certification.
- Prior experience in benefits administration and plan design.
- Prior supervisory experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES |
- Responsible for providing oversight and direction to the benefits team: performance, formally and informally, and work directly with the benefit analysts on day-to-day tasks.
- Manage the design and administration of the company benefits programs, which include active and retiree health & welfare plans and retirement plans.
- Negotiates contracts and ensures objectives are met with external vendors and service providers.
- Ensure benefit programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with company policies and all legal requirements, state and federal.
- Leads the management, evaluation, and communication of the benefit plans. This includes coordinating enrollment and eligibility process for new hires, retirees, and qualifying life events.
- Develop and plan new strategies to keep pace with changes affecting the benefits area while keeping the company competitive with other business entities.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
