Description
MDU Resources Group, Inc., a publicly traded company on the NYSE and a member of the S&P SmallCap 600 index, is looking for a financial professional to lead its SEC and Financial Reporting team in Bismarck, North Dakota. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the financial reporting function, including management of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, initiatives and controls for the maintenance of fiscal records, and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), Securities and Exchange Commission, Internal Revenue Service, and other applicable regulatory requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in the accounting field.
- Supervisory or leadership experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
- Certified Public Accountant.

- Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
- This position is located onsite in Bismarck, ND.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.

- May be required to maintain a valid driver's license.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Lead the financial reporting function activities, including the analysis and reporting of all financial transactions.
- Work as the liaison with external contacts, such as SEC legal counsel and auditors to resolve key accounting issues and reflect positions accurately in the financial statements.
- Lead efforts to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with applicable rules and regulations of the Company's financial filings with the SEC, including the Form 10-K and Form 10-Q.
- Foster a culture that promotes ethical practices and legal compliance.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
