As the Director of Financial Information Systems, you will lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of financial systems that support the accounting and finance functions at Progyny. You will serve as the bridge between Finance and IT, ensuring that systems like ERP, reporting tools, and automation platforms are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements. This role is critical to scaling our financial infrastructure and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

What you'll do...

Financial Systems Strategy & Governance

  • Own the roadmap for financial systems including ERP, consolidation, reporting, financial planning, and automation tools.

  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A and other stakeholders on financial data governance and downstream reporting.

  • Serve as system administrator for various key financial systems leading user access provisioning and change management procedures.

  • Ensure systems support SOX compliance, audit readiness, and internal control frameworks.

Implementation & Optimization

  • Lead or support implementation and enhancement of key financial systems and reports, including managing coordination with external consultants, as applicable.

  • Identify and execute opportunities for automation, artificial intelligence, integration, and process improvement.

  • Partner with the Finance department and cross-functional stakeholders to meet evolving business needs.

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Champion automation and process improvements in partnership with Finance Transformation.

  • Improve policies and desktop procedures for financial systems governance.

  • Oversee internal controls design, implementation, and testing related to key financial systems.

Leadership

  • Drive the vision and culture of the Financial Systems function.

  • Foster a data-driven and technology-accepting culture.

  • Inspire increased financial accuracy and transparency.

  • Provide strategic systems leadership across operations and cross-functional teams.

Strategic Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CAO on systems strategy.

  • Align strategy and reporting with cross-functional stakeholders to avoid duplication.

  • Collaborate with treasury and finance teams to optimize cash flow and projections.

About you...

  • Systems Strategist: Brings deep experience in ERP and financial systems strategy, implementation, and optimization to align teams around a compelling strategy. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives that support long-term business goals.

  • Compliance-Focused: Understands SOX, internal controls, and audit requirements in a public company environment.

  • Communicates Effectively: Proven ability to convey complex financial information clearly and persuasively across all levels of the organization. Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

  • Manages Complexity: Expert in financial systems and reporting within complex, regulated environments. Brings deep industry and public company experience, with a strong ability to solve multifaceted problems and drive process improvements

  • Process-Oriented: Adept at identifying and leading the execution of process improvements and automation opportunities, including working with internal stakeholders and external consultants.

  • Team Builder: Proven track record in building and mentoring high-performing teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial systems, accounting, FP&A or finance transformation roles.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or MS) preferred.

  • Experience in publicly traded organizations required; healthcare industry preferred.

  • Deep understanding of ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

  • Experience supporting SOX compliance and working with external auditors.

  • Strong project management skills and experience leading system implementations.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $165,000 - $180,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
