Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Manassas, VA. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
  • Design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for fabricating tools, equipment, and other functions affecting product performance.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspect the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and investigate and initiate corrective action for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that apply to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Guide to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques best.
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation and process improvement opportunities, and implement robotic automation solutions as needed.
  • Program and integrate industrial robots (such as Fanuc and Epson) with existing manufacturing systems, utilizing PLC programming expertise.
  • Optimize and maintain automated production lines to ensure maximum uptime and throughput, while maintaining high-quality standards.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $20.00 - $48.00/hr.

Hours: 4/10-1st Shift.

Length: Temp (12 months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, focusing on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with machine design, equipment installation, and material handling.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Design for Manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Good understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with robotics and automation, including programming and integration of industrial robots.
  • PLC programming expertise.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Equipment uptime and availability.
  • Increase in throughput and productivity, while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Successful implementation of process improvements, with a focus on lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • A good background in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
  • A proven track record of improving efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing environment.
