DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small team in the performance of pre-auditing expenditure transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). Your duties will include planning, organizing, and supervising the pre-audit processing of expenditure documents, analyzing complex invoice and contract issues, and developing internal auditing procedures. You will also analyze highly complex invoice and contract issues and provide potential solutions and appropriate resolution steps. As an Audit Manager, you will produce detailed reports highlighting issues and oversee Quality Control Reviews while keeping abreast of current developments in accounting and auditing professions. In addition, you will develop formal training programs for staff, serve as a liaison between various agencies, and perform supplemental audits as required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will report daily to your headquarters location. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of experience conducting the financial review of documents for compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations including two years in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree including fifteen credits in finance, business, accounting, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of experience supervising the conduct of financial reviews of documents for compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations, and fifteen credits in finance, business, accounting, or a closely related field.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application to state operations.
  • You must have experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, web-based utilities or the ability to learn relevant software to perform job duties.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the principles of auditing and government accounting
  • Experience in the advanced analysis of financial documents and report preparation
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently on assignments
