Job Summary

Change Management Consultants

  • Use and apply Change Management consulting skills to deliver programs and projects that involve multiple organizations and stakeholders.
  • Are effective at supporting moderate to complex initiatives and programs.
  • Support resolution of a wide range of consulting issues and situations.
  • Work on strategic Change Management consulting issues that are diverse in scope, where analysis of situations requires evaluation of various factors.
  • Receive minimal instruction on planning, researching, and resolving issues, with general instructions and guidance provided on new assignments and/or more unique situations.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The UCSF Enterprise Strategy and Transformation (EST) Office is an internal business advisory unit of skilled professionals who provide consulting services to the UCSF campus. The EST works with central leaders, the schools, and department staff to implement both campus-wide and unit-specific operational improvements. The EST consulting services include strategic planning, business process improvement, systems implementations and organizational restructuring. The EST provides these services leveraging skills in project management, group facilitation, change management, and Lean transformation. EST staff possess sound strategic thinking and consulting skills that guide the organization towards collaboratively identified, workable solutions.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Change, Business Administration or related area and 3-5 years relevant experience and/ or equivalent experience/training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project proposals and project plans.
  • Demonstrates analytical, problem solving, project planning and implementation skills.
  • Demonstrated of Change Management principles, theories and concepts.
  • Ability to assess needs and work collaboratively with team to design solutions to meet those needs.
  • Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, reason, synthesize and generalize based on information obtained.
  • Ability to coach, facilitate and influence individuals on client teams. Skilled in facilitation, relationship building, and consulting.
  • Ability to focus on priorities, strategies and vision

Preferred Qualifications


  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in universities or management consulting.
  • Has knowledge and experience in the Systems Development Life Cycle to assess, design, and implement new technology systems.
  • Has knowledge and experience in Lean Methodology to assess, design, and implement organizational improvements.
