SUMMARY: We are currently seeking a Clinical Systems Education Specialist to join our team. This full time role will work days on a hybrid schedule. Candidates must be local as on-site visits are expected regularly (currently team reports to campus a few days per week). Purpose of this position: To ensure successful user orientation and adoption of clinical information systems for patient-centered care. The Education Specialist provides education and support of clinical information systems and analytical tools to meet the operational and clinical needs of the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As an integral part of projects pertaining to organizational goals and strategies, clinical improvements, and regulatory requirements, is responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of education, creating and delivering communication which reinforces change management, and go-live support as needed for these projects
- Responsible for IS&T communication strategy of clinical workflow changes and impact to clinicians and patient care
- Applying appropriate education theory and adult learning principles, develops and maintains curriculum and training guides for clinicians, including Epic and workflow training plans, content and competency testing, and feedback processes
- Teaches workflows and applications functionality to HHS clinical users when entering the organization, as well as maintaining education throughout Epic upgrades and optimizations
- Provides education and consultative services to providers in relation to documentation standards in terms of quality, regulatory requirements, and best practices in alignment with clinical workflows
- Performs and documents workflow analysis, supporting standardized workflows and best practices, and uses expertise in assigned healthcare applications to recommend enhancements based on operational needs
- Performs data analysis to support system, adoption and optimization initiatives. Anticipates reporting needs, and makes suggestions for value added data. Searches for potential system process improvements and recommends changes.
- Serves as a liaison between application support, clinical operations, informatics, and system users. Interprets and translates workflows, processes and terminology into messaging and educational content.
- Builds and maintains patients in the testing environment
- Provides end-user support to include troubleshooting basic to moderately complex application issues, providing issue resolution when able, and escalating more complex issues as appropriate
- Acts as an essential part of the Epic upgrade team, managing communication to clinical users, assessing educational needs, and supporting the go-live
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field OR bachelor's degree in education related field with a minimum of 2 years of healthcare related experience
- Experience in training/education of clinicians in a health care setting
- Experience in the build/maintenance/support of Epic

- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare related or Education related degree
- Experience in the use of Epic and/or Epic certification in at least one Epic module
- Credentialed trainer in EpicCare
- Experience in end user support and/or educating clinicians in a classroom setting
- Experience in change management
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with a diversity of personalities, professions and departments; willingness to work across clinical areas and outside personal area of clinical expertise
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, set appropriate priorities and accomplish assignments in a thorough and timely manner
- Demonstrates a high level of clinical knowledge, analytical ability and critical decision making skills
- Possesses good grasp of clinical work flows and ability to perform workflow analysis
- Possesses knowledge and skills to support clinicians and manage changes associated with implementing or optimizing clinical information systems and promoting adoption by health professionals
- Strong computer skills including web-based applications, word processing, spreadsheet, graphs and PowerPoint
License/Certifications:
- Certified in at least one Epic module or pass certification within 12 months in the position
