*Job Description*
The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for performing various types of splicing within two hours of the Tampa location in each direction. The current need is to support Florida expansion efforts in the surrounding market. This individual should reside near the Tampa market and be open to light travel, with the potential to stay overnight (hotel/per diem covered by the client). The initial splicing work will be light, so this resource needs to be open to cross-utilization with ISP teams-pulling low-voltage cable, installation, maintenance, etc. The main skillset for this individual is fiber splicing (up to 432 count), testing, terminating, troubleshooting, and working with connectors. They should have experience with OTDR, Fluke, and fusion splicing. Secondary skills and nice-to-haves include low-voltage experience, ISP, construction cabling, and being a team player capable of working across different divisions. Splice reels will be transported with a pull-behind trailer, so experience with pull-behind trailers is needed (trailer is air-conditioned). Our client works with splicing equipment including Sumitomo, ribbon splicer, single burn, EXFO/OTDR tracing and testing, etc. This position runs from 6-3 or 7-4 depending on the job. This resource will report to the Tampa office location and ride out with a team lead to the job site. A take-home company vehicle may be provided down the road, but this resource will be able to carpool and utilize available vehicles for onsite travel. *Top Skills' Details* * 3+ years of fiber splicing experience (must have experience with counts as high as 432). * Experience with testing, terminating, and troubleshooting (OTDR, Fusion, Fluke, etc.). * Team player; open to cross-utilization for both OSP and ISP. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
