Airgas is Hiring for a Bulk Sales Manager for the MidSouth Region. You can be based out of Tulsa or Oklahoma City.

The primary function is to manage and direct the bulk specialist team activities in assigned Area of the Region. Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals. Coaches bulk specialists on best practices and Airgas Standards. Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates; develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of the company. Serves as liaison between sales and operations. Works closely with product and marketing managers to obtain information and direction on product availability/capacities and marketing techniques.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, coach, and direct the efforts of the Bulk Specialists to achieve highest sales and profit performance. Reviews available reports of assigned sales personnel to ensure the team's time is maximized.

  • Ability to spend >50% of their time in the field with direct reports and customers.

  • Actively pursues and acquires, on an on-going basis, new and competitive accounts with emphasis on gases business and new product supply agreements. Increases sales and total gross profit.

  • Ensure all customers within area receive quality customer service from company associates, and enable Airgas to penetrate existing customer base with all product lines offered by region.

  • Ensures customer inquiries related to billing problems, order status, time of delivery, etc. are promptly and courteously handled; follows up as necessary.

  • Lead and promote safety; organizes safety meetings and strictly enforces safety rules.

  • Maintain and upgrade selling skills and technical/product knowledge and ensure customers are aware of new offers and processes. Ensure bulk specialists maintain and upgrade their skills.

  • Review and approve sales commissions/incentives on a monthly basis. Set, revise and communicate sales quotas as necessary to accommodate new assigned accounts, national accounts, and changes in assigned customers from one bulk specialist to another.

  • Coordinate with and inform District Managers within Region as required to follow up opportunities on current and potential new customers. Keep Area Vice President advised of coordination efforts.

  • Represent company at approved trade association meetings where appropriate.

  • Ensure that disciplinary issues and performance deficiencies are properly discussed, documented in a timely manner, and forwarded to individual's personnel file.

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including expense reporting of assigned personnel.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university or combination of college and 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years experience in the industrial gas industry specifically with the sales of bulk gases and/or sales, preferably both.

  • Computer literacy required. Need to be able to create Excel Spreadsheets, Word documents, and prepare and present PowerPoint presentations.

  • Successful management of a sales team preferred.

  • Past record of achieving sales growth objectives.
