Airgas is Hiring for a CDL A Driver in Salt Lake City

We are looking for you !

  • Pay $31/Hr

  • Per diem pay for food and hotel paid for during 2-3 layovers per week

  • Referral Bonus $1000

  • Paid weekly via direct deposit

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday with the occasional weekendstarting at 2am-5am.

  • Average 50 hour work week and 2-3 layover per week

  • 2-3 days per week will be going to Airgas locations

  • Service areas: Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, cortez, Co and Cheyenne Wyoming

  • CDL A trucks will be used

  • 2-14 stops per day

If you're looking for dry ice, you'll find it with Airgas. As the largest supplier of dry ice, Airgas has established a series of production plants across the nation to develop a secure source supply. Distribution Branches are located in strategic locations throughout the country to provide service to key industries including universities and labs. Quality, reliability, and service are the key drivers that enable Airgas to grow with organizations who depend on dry ice and cold shipping supplies.

  • Drive truck to deliver dry ice to customer's place of business.

  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to load and unload dry ice.

  • Obtain customer signature, ensure piece count matches load manifest, and collect empty dry ice boxes to be returned to the plant and/or branch.

  • Provide customer service and give feedback from customers to the Branch Manager.

  • Perform pre and post trip inspections on trucks according to DOT and company maintenance checklist. Keep the inside of the truck clean.

  • Comply with all company policies, safety policies and procedures, and DOT and OSHA requirements

  • Secure cargo prior to and during transit

Required qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL & Airbrake endorsements

  • Must be able and licensed to drive a standard transmission

  • Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements

  • Minimum driving qualifications: 5 years of Class A driving experience in the last 9 years or 2 years experience driving a bulk tractor trailer or 1 year driving a tractor trailer while working for Airgas

  • No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years

  • No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years

  • Must be able to work in a drug-free environment

  • Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
