About Ameren Illinois Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service. Every day, we deliver electricity to 1.2 million electric and 816,000 natural gas customers in central and southern Illinois. We deliver safe, reliable energy to more than 1,200 communities. Under the direction of a qualified journeyman or member of management to complete the necessary training to be able to perform all duties required of a Cable Splicer: handle high voltages, climb poles, operate hydraulic equipment, operate trenching equipment, drive and operate trucks. Operate various instruments and test equipment. Assist with the construction and maintenance of network distribution system including the splicing and termination of lead cable. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or equivalent - Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL driver's license. - Construction & Skilled Trades (CAST-R) test - Behavioral Interview - Apprentice Line Evaluations - Post-offer: DOT physical, drug screen, driver application/qualifications - Must be willing to meet the residency requirements of 25 miles from the operating center Hourly Pay: Grade Step BW 014 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 41.50 USDPosition is eligible for annual incentive payments based on company performance and subject to sole management discretion.
