About the Role

Springer Nature is seeking an Associate or Senior Editor to join the Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team.

This exciting position involves being part of a team of editors that will work closely - and flexibly - with the existing Nature Research Journals. The ideal candidate would be a critical thinker with a deep understanding of their subject, curiosity and a desire to learn about areas beyond it, and who can think on their feet.

Role responsibilities:

  • Supporting editorial processes relating to manuscript assessment and the peer-review process.

  • Commissioning, editing and writing content for journals.

  • Working closely with Chief Editors and journal teams, while reporting to the Head of the Research Cross-Journal Team, on other aspects of journal content and strategy, as appropriate.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Research experience to PhD level (or equivalent) in environmental or sustainability focused social sciences.

  • A keen interest in research both within and beyond your specialty.

  • The ability to absorb and understand new areas of research.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Time management and work prioritization skills

  • Postdoctoral experience preferred.

  • Previous editorial experiencepreferred.

  • Expertise in any other related disciplines in addition to those listed above.

US Annualized Base Salary Range: Associate Editor: $80,000 / Senior Editor: $95,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
