About the Opportunity:

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Controller to lead their accounting and finance operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with strong manufacturing and cost accounting expertise who is looking to step into a role with significant impact and visibility.

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Accounting Manager/Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, cost analysis, and financial reporting while serving as a strategic business partner to senior leadership. This individual will play a key role in driving accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Direct all accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.



  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process with accuracy and timeliness.



  • Manage cost accounting, inventory, and variance analysis, providing insights to leadership.



  • Partner with operations to analyze production costs, monitor efficiencies, and assess capital expenditures.



  • Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and compliance with GAAP.



  • Oversee preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.



  • Support external audits and liaise with auditors, banking partners, and regulatory agencies.



  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff to promote professional development and team success.



  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage ERP systems for reporting and analytics.




Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).



  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.



  • Strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.



  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.



  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.



  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
