About the Office of The Career Center (CC):

The Career Center reports jointly to the Office of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (OUESS) and the Office of Graduate
and Postdoctoral Education (GPE). The Center includes the Career Operations Team, which includes event planning, administrative support, and IT; the Undergraduate Career Education Team, which provides resources to undergraduate students to support their searches for full- time employment after graduation, such as help with the exploration,
selection, and pursuit of meaningful careers; career counseling; resume writing interview tips, etc. and the Employer Connections team, which leads the effort to grow and maintain the elite brand and the diverse set
of employers engaging the Georgia Tech campus. The center also shares responsibility for the Undergraduate cooperative education (Co-op) and Internship programs with the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning and the Graduate Career Services and Internship Programs with the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Education.

This position reports to the Director of Career Operations and Employer Connections in the Career Center.

Hours Of Operations:
This position must be available to work standard GT business hours M-F, 8-5 (or 7-4 or 9-6), as well as some evenings as weekends based on student programs and with advanced notice. We are looking for
hardworking professionals who are dedicated to undergraduate education and make students the top priority to join our organization of talented, energetic, and creative team members.

Job Summary

The Program Manager works with many levels of leadership and staff to manage program efforts based on industry best practices; works as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of program goals, deliverables, and schedules, and must be an excellent communicator; various levels of documentation will be produced at each stage of the program and the program manager is often the person who creates these with input from others.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Establish goals, objectives, and evaluation criteria for programs; evaluate program effectiveness on an ongoing basis
Job Duty 2 - Manage day-to-day operational aspects of programs, including planning scheduling, and monitoring activities; Assist with developing and formalizing program scope; assign resources and set deadlines
Job Duty 3 - Recommend, update, and support programmatic policies and procedures
Job Duty 4 - Develop and maintain effective relationships with program sponsors, stakeholders, teams, and others to assess needs and existing program methodology
Job Duty 5 - Research and identify funding and resources to support programs; Track timelines and budgets, report status, and resolve or escalates issues as necessary
Job Duty 6 - May assist with developing and distributing publications, resources, and program or marketing materials
Job Duty 7 - Participate in strategic and operational planning for programs
Job Duty 8 - Perform other job-related duties assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience
Up to two years of job-related experience

  • Demonstrated experience in generating revenue opportunities through external partnerships with corporations and donors

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: $60,000- $65,000 annual. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.

Other Information

Additional Duties Related to the Position

The Career Events Manager will oversee and implement all aspects of career-related events and coordinate services with other campus offices involved in career and professional development. The manager will also serve as a resource to other campus units that host career-related fairs and events.

Finally, the manager will strive to help improve the impact, effectiveness, and efficiency of the career center by supporting the needs of the career education and the employer relations teams. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Career Center staff, student ambassadors, vendors and campus stakeholders. This position will typically advise and counsel: staff and students involved in event planning and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Manage event logistics for both the career education and employer relations teams; coordinate event logistics with other campus offices and colleges involved in career and professional development.
  • Communicate and manage relationships with external partners involved in events, such as employers, recruiters, alumni, volunteers, and other constituents.
  • Lead the administration of the office's core events, including career fairs, career workshop series, and other relevant on-campus career events.
  • Serve as a campus resource for other units involved in hosting career fairs or other career-related events.
  • Coordinate logistics related to advisory board meetings, corporate partner recognition, and other, primarily employer-focused events. As requested, may also support internal programs such as center retreats and other events.
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting logistics, info sessions, and interview scheduling.
  • Work closely with the center's operations staff, Executive Director, and Director of Employer Connections to ensure the success of all employer-related events.
  • Monitor and reconcile budgets for employer-related programs, events, and sponsorships.
  • Process invoices, reimbursements, and vendor payments in accordance with institutional financial policies.
  • Prepare financial reports for leadership, highlighting ROI on employer engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate sponsorship packages and track outcomes for employer partners
  • Manage projects and relationships with key campus departments involved with room reservations, catering, communications/marketing, and other relevant services; utilize relevant technology to manage events, track expenditures and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop procedures to maximize the efficiency of planning and managing events; leverage technology to improve attendee experience at events.
