The Certified Group provides analytical testing and regulatory guidance services in the food & beverage, dietary supplements & NHP, cosmetics, OTC, personal care, tobacco, cannabis, nicotine, and hemp industries.

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team!

This position provides support in Purchasing and Distribution from order placement through closeout of purchase orders, using procurement and financial tools. This role also serves as a liaison between suppliers and customers and regularly researches and resolves issues. This role supports Accounting from order receipt, generation of sales orders and picking tickets through customer billing. This role will support the entire supply chain.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of purchase orders and confirmations.
  • Plan and implement procurement actions under the guidance of a Vice President of Purchasing and Distribution.
  • Follow up on orders placed, verify deliveries, approve invoicing, perform price audits, and maintain necessary records.
  • Close sales orders, generate reporting data, follow-up on invoicing and customer receipt of goods or services.
  • Review supplies to ensure quality
  • Monitor stock levels
  • Assist with other tasks related to purchasing or accounting as directed.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school graduate or equivalent GED may be accepted, with a minimum of 4 years' experience in purchasing chemicals or other scientific supplies. A Degree/Certificate in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or science/chemistry is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of purchasing or accounting experience.
  • Experience with sourcing and/or supply chain
  • Experience with laboratory equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of business administration procedures, techniques, and business ethics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the formation and administration of purchase orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize projects.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
