The Division Order Analyst is responsible for handling moderately complex matters related to division orders within a geographic area. The role reviews and analyzes oil and gas leases and related exploration and production contracts to ensure proper maintenance of these assets acquired by assigned division or geographic area, and maintains related files. The role involves maintaining record and equitable title ownership of producing properties in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. The role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate processing of division orders and managing ownership details, thereby contributing significantly to the success of the land administration division.
  • Administer title and division order activities for producing properties from initial well production through the life of the well.
  • Work under general supervision and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review leases, title opinions, land agreements, and contracts to confirm company interests, royalty rates, and payment obligations.
  • Set up and maintain ownership records, calculate division of interest, and process changes for oil and gas production proceeds.
  • Recommend process improvements and share knowledge to help improve data quality within the land department.
  • Maintain accurate division of interest data and keep files updated with relevant documents and reports.
  • Respond to division order inquiries, including hotline tickets, and provide routine information or redirect calls as needed.
  • Ensure timely administration of division order responsibilities in line with statutory payment requirements.
  • Participate in the due diligence process for unclaimed property, including identifying and contacting owners in accordance with state regulations.
  • Independently evaluate and recommend solutions, prioritize tasks, and contribute to team goals.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in Title and Ownership Verification, Royalty Calculations, Division Order Processing, or a related field.
  • Industry experience preferred. North Dakota Division Orders experience is a plus.
  • SAP PRA Ownership experience is preferred.
