WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Jefferson County is looking for a Child, Youth and Family Professional I/II to join the Child and Family Division with the Human Services Department whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families living in Jefferson County by addressing their needs in a respectful manner and enable citizens receiving services to function as independently as possible, while acknowledging their cultural differences.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Child, Youth and Family Professional I/II position is focused on Youth Justice Worker duties. The Youth Justice Worker will support the philosophy and practice of family-based youth justice services. Work includes assessing youth referred to the ongoing Youth Justice unit, identifying target areas, and building case plans with the family that match needed services to the driving areas of need. This position requires a strength-based and family-centered approach and uses Functional Family Case Management and Motivational Interviewing in the work with youth and families.


SOME ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be successful in this role by completing the following tasks and responsibilities:


  • Advocates for and supports community-based interventions that maintain a youth in their home and/or community.
  • Collaborates in staffing, family team meetings, and other multidisciplinary meetings to ensure informed decision making and to facilitate necessary services in the best interest of the children, youth and families.
  • Documents and reports interactions in compliance with departmental policies and Wisconsin State Statues accurately and timely including but not limited to assessments, plans, evaluations, reviews, progress notes, and reports.
  • Advocates for and supports permanent outcomes for children and youth in out-of-home care, ensuring they achieve stable and lasting placement.
  • Youth Justice Worker: Proficient knowledge and application of State Statutes 938 of the Children's Code, Department of Children and Families Child Welfare standards, Functional Family Case Management and Youth Assessment Screening Instrument practices.
