POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State seeks an Experiential Learning Coordinator to develop, implement, and manage experiential learning opportunities for students within the Schreyer Honors College.

The person in this position will focus on community-engaged experiences, ensuring that students have access to high-quality, impactful experiences that enhance their academic and professional development during their time at Penn State.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Program Development and Management:

    • Design and implement experiential learning programs, including community-based experiences and research opportunities.

    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to create and sustain meaningful experiential learning opportunities and enhance existing programs.

    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, make adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.

  • Student Support and Advising:

    • Provide guidance and support to students participating in experiential learning programs.

    • Assist students in identifying and securing appropriate experiential learning opportunities.

    • Offer workshops and resources to help students maximize their experiential learning experiences.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Manage program budgets and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

    • Maintain accurate records of student participation and program outcomes.

    • Prepare reports and presentations on program activities and achievements.

  • Marketing and Outreach:

    • Promote experiential learning opportunities to students, faculty, and external partners.

    • Collaborate with Strategic Communications to develop marketing materials and strategies to increase awareness and participation in experiential learning programs.

    • Represent the Schreyer Honors College at events and conferences related to experiential learning.

Establishing and maintaining partnerships with faculty, community organizations, and other partners is another key aspect of this role. The Experiential Learning Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the college and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; inclusive and respectful when working with others.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

  • Experience with program management and development, preferably in a higher education setting.

  • Knowledge of best practices in experiential learning and student development.

  • Experience working with honors students or in an honors college setting is preferred.

  • Familiarity with budget management and fundraising.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Additional Information:

This position will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

The Schreyer Honors College supports flexible work arrangements when they align with the needs of the unit and the responsibilities of the position.

For this role, we expect full-time, on-site presence (five days per week) during the first three months. After that period, remote work may be considered for one to two days per week, in accordance with College guidelines. Candidates are encouraged to discuss any questions about flexible work with the hiring manager during the interview process.

Please note that this is not a fully remote position.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
