Assistant Professor - Biology

Provides educational leadership, ensures a quality learning environment for all students, and plans, organizes, implements and assesses didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences as assigned within the vision, mission, values, and learning domains of the College.

Education: Doctoral degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field.

Teaching:

1. Demonstrates a current knowledge/skill set in area(s) of expertise; demonstrates mastery of teaching area
2. Participates in course development and evaluation
3. Articulates a teaching philosophy
4. Demonstrates a mastery of current and relevant literature through incorporation of these materials into classroom work
5. Uses creative teaching strategies to help students develop critical thinking and analytic skills
   Scholarship:
6. Maintains teaching and/or clinical expertise by active engagement in the discipline
7. Shares expertise with colleagues
8. Engages in collaborative research or creative activity
   Service:
9. Contributes to two academic committees at the College; serves as a leader on one committee
10. Serves on as a volunteer on a local committee in a professional capacity
11. Serves as a leader on a college committee
12. Participates in student recruitment
13. Participates in quality improvement
14. Presents at workshops or programs at the local level
