DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Licensed Psychologist for the Department of Corrections, you will play a significant role in providing psychological services for the inmate population at SCI Phoenix. Responsibilities will involve administering, scoring, and interpreting a battery of psychological tests to determine the inmates' intellectual functioning, personality, and other related factors. You can expect to provide information, evaluation, monitoring, and support to severely mentally ill inmates and those in need of crisis intervention and plan development. Your work will include performing individual and group psychotherapy and screening inmates for psychiatric services and other mental health services. You will have the opportunity to participate in staff meetings to discuss and evaluate inmate treatment and case management.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:
- You must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.
- As an employee in the Department of Corrections, you must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment in the job.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
