DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in various trades, focusing on the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment within our facility. Your responsibilities will include performing a range of maintenance and repair tasks related to the construction, modification, restoration, and upkeep of building components such as floors, roofs, stairways, windows, and doors. Tasks also involve preparing and painting surfaces; installing and repairing plumbing fixtures like sinks, faucets, water heaters, and drains; as well as installing and replacing electrical circuits, panels, outlets, and lighting fixtures. Additional duties include snow removal and performing concrete or masonry repairs. All work will be conducted following DMVA general safety guidelines and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Schedule may vary based on operational needs, including a flexible schedule on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel and overtime: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration): or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
