The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Construction Mitigation and Coordination (OCMC)-Streets in the Bureau of Permit Management and Construction Control is tasked with coordinating all construction activity occurring within the City's roadways and sidewalks as well as reviewing all construction permit applications and developing traffic stipulations. Our primary goal is to allow construction activity to occur with minimal disruption to businesses, motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians, while avoiding conflicts with special events and other construction projects. OCMC-Streets interacts with project engineers, other city agencies, community boards, elected officials, and the general public to resolve construction issues related to mobility. OCMC-Streets is seeking an ambitious and motivated individual to join our team as Project Coordinator. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or Preferred Skills
Preference will be given to candidate in possession of a driver's license valid in the state of New York. This license must be maintained throughout duration of employment in this position. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Ability to review documents for accuracy, identify problems, manage against tight timelines, and prioritize projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of CCU/ARTS and NYC Streets is a plus. Public Service Loan Forgiveness

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
