Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire, and oversee the social media video team to produce bold, creative content designed specifically for digital and social channels
  • Drive the creative direction for video storytelling that resonates in-platform-whether it's short-form TikTok edits, Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, or long-form LinkedIn narratives
  • Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithms, and cultural moments, adapting content strategies to meet audience expectations and maximize engagement
  • Collaborate with editorial, social, and communications partners to identify timely stories and deliver social-first video solutions that highlight Optum's impact
  • Develop and execute creative strategies that increase reach, engagement, and share of voice across Optum's owned channels
  • Partner with analytics teams to review performance metrics and apply insights into future content planning
  • Champion accessibility, inclusivity, and brand standards while ensuring all video content is optimized for mobile and multi-platform distribution
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, balancing high-volume production with creative excellence

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in social media content creation, video production, and digital storytelling
  • 3+ years of experience managing creative or video teams
  • Proven experience creating and leading social media-first video content across platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.), with measurable engagement results
  • Experience using analytics and performance data to inform creative direction and optimize future content
  • Proven solid creative skills: scripting, storyboarding, directing, editing, and adapting content to fit unique platform styles
  • Proven fluency in current social media trends, best practices, and algorithmic shifts, with the ability to turn insights into creative opportunities
  • Proven expertise with video production tools and editing platforms (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.), plus familiarity with social publishing tools
  • Proven excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills with a track record of cross-functional partnership
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment while maintaining brand consistency
