The Inova PET CT Scan clinic is looking for a full time APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). The Willow Oaks clinic is located near Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Some coverage at ICPH may be required. Monday - Friday, no weekends, holidays and no on call. Featured Benefits:

The Specialty Advanced Practice Provider exercises independent judgement in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures, in accordance with the licensure regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as delineated in the written Scope of Practice and Protocol. Demonstrates respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines while using an integrated team-based approach to achieve desired patient outcomes. Utilizes evidenced based standards, guidelines and protocols for care delivery. Participates in quality and best practice initiatives by utilizing standards and guidelines for cost effective care delivery to continuously improve patient care and enhance outcomes. Performs high-quality clinical practices and effective patient management under physician supervision by following state regulations, including primary and secondary specialty care in clinical practice settings. - SPECT MPI Responsibilities (Primary):
- Perform high-quality Cardiac SPECT MPI imaging following departmental protocols.
- Explain SPECT procedures and stress testing to patients and ensure proper preparation.
- Document procedures and patient records accurately in the EPIC EMR.
- Maintain radiation safety and administer emergency protocols when needed.
- Collaborate with providers, APPs, and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- PET/CT Responsibilities (Cross-Trained Coverage):
- Explain PET procedures and stress testing to patients and ensure proper preparation.
- Monitor stress response during pharmacologic testing.
- Document studies accurately in EPIC EMRand PACS.
- Assist with glucose monitoring and patient preparation as needed.
- Follow PET/CT safety protocols, including aminophylline administration when applicable.
- Actively participate in workflow coverage and readiness.
- Engage in protocol development or performance improvement projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification - Basic Life Support upon start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (for Critical Care) upon start
- Licensure - Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License(depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances)
- Board Certification - Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Maintains necessary CME requirements.
- Education - Bachelor's in Nursing and Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR a certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing. For Physician Assistants, a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
Preferred Qualifications:
- APP experience preferred.
