Job Summary
The Academic Support Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Dean's Office within the Jindal School of Management (JSOM). This position serves as a key point of coordination for projects, initiatives, and administrative processes that support the school's academic mission and strategic goals.
Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, the Academic Support Coordinator partners with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to drive effective communication, organization, and workflow across the school. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that enhance both operational excellence and the student experience.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful someone who thrives on managing multiple priorities and improving processes. This individual demonstrates strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to service. The position reports directly to the JSOM Graduate Dean and provides support to other leaders and departments as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four or more years of administrative office experience in an academic environment. Excellent computer skills with various programs and ability to work with specialized databases. Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Coordinate Academic and Operational Processes:
    Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of school-wide academic processes, initiatives, and special projects.

  • Data and Record Management:
    Maintain accurate and organized records, databases, and documentation to support assessment, scheduling, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Administrative Support:
    Manage scheduling, correspondence, meeting coordination, and general administrative functions to ensure efficient daily operations.

  • Communication and Collaboration:
    Serve as a point of contact for faculty, staff, and university offices to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and improve workflows.

  • Project Support:
    Contribute to project planning and tracking efforts, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and adherence to institutional policies.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to streamline operations, enhance student and faculty support, and implement best practices within academic administration.

  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the evolving priorities and goals of the school.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The role may occasionally involve light physical activity, such as carrying small boxes, walking between campus locations, and assisting with in-person exam proctoring.

Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly). Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
