Essential Job Duties
NC State University Libraries IT Department is seeking motivated undergraduate or graduate students to join the Libraries Information Technology Support team. IT Student Technicians work to assist Library patrons and staff with technology issues. IT Student Technicians are entrusted with a high level of responsibility and have the opportunity to develop creative solutions to technical challenges.
Duties include: monitoring and responding to the Libraries IT Service Desk support requests; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues; assisting with hardware, software, and network support; maintaining IT equipment and supporting Libraries computing.
Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience while working alongside professional IT staff, supporting best-in-class enterprise technology solutions across D.H. Hill Jr., James B. Hunt Jr., and NC State University branch libraries.

Must be enrolled as an Undergraduate or Graduate student at NC State University.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Experience with network and computer troubleshooting
  • Experience interacting directly with customers including Students, Staff and Faculty via multiple communication channels.
  • Ability to document customer interaction, troubleshoot problems, and gather technical information.
