Position Summary:



The primary function of an Inside Sales Specialist position is to take an entrepreneurial approach to all sales activities from lead generation through close while supporting customers daily. The physical location of this position will be in Wake Forest, NC supporting the normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 4pm. The individual will work toward the development of customer relationships and translate those into revenue generation that align with long-term account goals, branch vision, company values, and his/her own personal business goals. This person will also be supporting the Outside Sales staff and the Showroom Manager in areas of quoting, order entry, cash sales, and more. There will be an onboarding process with time spent learning about the sales process, education on products that Colonial Materials distributes, and interaction with different roles to help understand the business. Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Building relationships with customers
  • Ability to use company computer system to enter orders
  • Complete sales orders and tender cash sales
  • Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports
  • Maintain customer accounts
  • Sales administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, sales, and pricing



Basic Qualifications:



  • Microsoft office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to self-manage is critical and especially relating to time management.
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction industry preferred but can be taught.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years of sales experience preferred, but willing to work with the right candidate if entry level.
