Professional Experience/ Qualifications |
- Demonstrated flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a collected, professional approach at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality when working with sensitive documents and information, and understanding and complying with FERPA regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to cull and consolidate data for reports.
- Comfortable and proactive with learning new technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to write and edit professional correspondence.
- Strong aptitude for seeking out higher education and academic enterprise knowledge, as well as Colgate University organizational systems, and process knowledge.
- Strong customer service experience and the ability to professionally coordinate with multiple stakeholders including faculty, staff, and alumni is critical.
- Must be capable of working collegially with diverse groups of faculty, staff, students and community members.

Accountabilities |
- Primarily responsible for providing support for the University Registrar and Associate Provost for Institutional Analysis and providing administrative support for both offices.
- Uses consistent and precise data entry to assist with registration, transfer credit, catalog and website maintenance, policy interpretation, and other duties as assigned.
- Ability to effectively use registration and academic planning tools (e.g., Banner, Degree Works, Acalog, TES, Excel, etc.). Ability to edit existing reports to confirm accuracy.
- Ability to provide a welcoming and professional environment to all constituents. Provides accurate and courteous responses to questions, adapts communication to diverse audiences - promptly brokering other resources as required; provides sound advice to students and faculty regarding university processes and procedures.
- Ability to work with students to resolve registration and transfer credit issues.
- Ability to work with faculty and staff to complete catalogue maintenance.
- Thinks of and encourages new ideas, and is keen to experiment and see ideas implemented; finds new and innovative ways of creating value for the university at the division, department or function level.
- Analyzes and prioritizes situations to identify and solve problems; solutions increase efficiency and improve quality; involves others in solving problems and making decisions; factors organizational goals into decisions; makes clear, transparent, timely decisions.
