Capabilities & Insights Analyst - Digital and Technology Insights
Job ID: 102266

Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
At McKinsey & Company, we believe in the power of technology and data to drive transformative business outcomes. As a Capabilities and Insights Analyst within our Digital and Technology Insights team (DTi), you will play a pivotal role in guiding our consultants to leverage cutting-edge offerings, products, and insights to solve complex client challenges.
Your impact within our firm will be multifaceted, contributing to both client success and the advancement of our internal knowledge and operational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering DTi diagnostics, insights and products across the world, with a focus on clients in the Americas.
In this exciting position, you will be at the intersection of technology, digital, AI and business, providing essential support to our client-service teams. You will engage with these teams to scope and prioritize project requests and business needs. You will clarify and scope objectives to determine the most appropriate offerings, insights, data, and products. This involves deploying standard offerings and products with minimal guidance, interpreting the outputs of these, and conducting medium-complexity data-driven analyses and calculations. Your ability to prepare accurate, well-developed documents, databases, models, solution outputs, and ready-to-use charts will be instrumental in driving client success.
Beyond client work, you will contribute to our knowledge, tech-enablement, and operational agenda. You will support the development and maintenance of databases, products, offerings and knowledge codification, working closely with senior colleagues on product development and knowledge creation initiatives. Your contributions will extend to client development efforts, such as creating client proposals and use case examples that showcase our expertise. You will analyze data sets by developing scripts to validate, transform, and load data, creating insights that help drive our clients to action.
On the DTi team, you will spend some of your time working on technical deliverables associated with both internal automation and tools, and client-facing prototypes. Over time, you will increasingly serve as a subject matter expert to McKinsey colleagues and our clients on digital, analytics, AI and technology topics, contributing to building our diagnostics, product development, and reach and relevance initiatives. Your journey at McKinsey will be one of continuous growth and development, ensuring that you remain at the forefront of industry advancements.
Your Growth
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues-at all levels-will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won't find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • World-class benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well-being for you and your family.
Your qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably engineering, business administration, or equivalent in IT/computer science/electronics & communications); master's degree is a plus
  • 1+ years of experience in the field of consulting, analytics, AI, IT, and/or business intelligence
  • Solid understanding of general business concepts and terminologies and proven problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and validate data quality, identify issues, and take corrective measures; experience working with large datasets, data visualization tools, and statistics a plus
  • Effective multi-tasking abilities, time management skills, and overall responsiveness
  • Working knowledge of any of the following areas is a plus: Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Qualtrics, Agile, Tech Talent workforce planning, DevOps, Advanced Analytics, or Cloud
  • Flexibility to travel regionally and globally up to 10% of the time, as needed
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and ability to effectively establish oneself as a trusted and indispensable advisor to consulting teams and clients while conveying complex information to senior business and technology executives
  • Fluency in English required (verbal and written)
