Job Description

Pay: $70,000 - $85,000

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. In addition, these positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, jury duty, and bereavement leave. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan - must be 18 years of age to participate.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager III, Human Resources plans, coordinates, and directs many of the administrative functions within Goodwill of Colorado's Human Resources (HR) team and more specifically, the functions of Employee Relations. This individual will oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of their own staff, and consult with leadership on the employee experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Employee Relations:



  • Hires, trains, and supervises a team of Employee Relations Specialists (3 or more).
  • Oversee the administration of unemployment claims.
  • Oversee the administration of NAVEX/EthicsPoint system including user settings and monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis.
  • Oversee the administration of Employer's Council account to include updating employee list and access.
  • Responsible for researching and explaining laws and legal affairs concerning employment to our team members along with our managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Supports escalated levels of employee relations issues.
  • Represent Goodwill in numerous meetings including internal and external agencies/companies.
  • Collaborates with leadership.
  • Works closely with company attorneys and staff to respond to charges of discrimination received from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC); tracks costs, and keeps Executive Team updated.
  • Will conduct or assist in conducting internal and external mediation.
  • Responsible for annual policy review (to include Employee Handbook).
  • Assume the role of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Coordinator to include taking lead on any audits/CARF activities.
  • Collaborate with department managers in the creation of new job descriptions. Setting up the workforce with clearly defined objectives, essential functions, qualifications, competencies and physical requirements for all positions. While ensuring the job description adheres to labor laws and regulations, promoting fair hiring practices, and pay equity.
  • Responsible for ordering and distribution of Federal/State labor posters as updated throughout the year
  • Responsible for submitting Employee Relations information on Human Resources (HR) Dashboard each month.


Other:



  • Participates in and co-leads cross-functional project teams to provide and implement effective system solutions to HR.
  • Will assist in overall HR compliance where needed.
  • Will ensure HR systems align with policies and procedures related to recruitment, employee relations, and human resources practices and policies.
  • Will provide back-up support to the Benefits and Compensation Manager for compensation analysis and wage updates.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, is preferred; or progressive and superior Human Resources work experience in lieu of.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is preferred.


Experience:



  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience is required.
  • 5+ years in Employee Relations is required.
  • 5+ years of professional HR administration is required.
  • 2+ years of experience performing complex compensation and data analysis is required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience is required.


Other:



  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong analytical experience using tools like Microsoft Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of State and Federal laws concerning Employee Relations.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Thorough understanding of dispute resolution.
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.


*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:



  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.


Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.

Applicants/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.
