*Client:* Banking Industry
*Location:* On site hybrid 3 days a week in McLean or Richmond, Virginia *Contract anticipated to go up to 12-24 months* *Skills **Required to be considered: * * Python * SQL * AWS RDS, AWS Lambda * Ability to go on site 3 days a week to office - relocation support will not be provided *Additional (preferred): * AWS Glue, Spark, DataBricks, experience with REST API development, Snowflake nice to have, AWS Solutions Architect Certification would be a plus *Description* We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-impact data pod focused on infrastructure resiliency within a leading financial services organization. This role involves building and standing up data solutions (not maintenance) to ensure network resiliency, minimize downtime, and enable automated controls for audit and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong history in enterprise data engineering, preferably in banking environments. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities *Design and implement scalable data pipelines and schemas using AWS RDS, Lambda, and related services. *Develop and optimize Python and SQL solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis. *Collaborate with data strategy leads to build dashboards and enable self-service data capabilities. *Integrate data from sources such as OneLake and Snowflake for resiliency metrics and trend analysis. *Contribute to automation of audit controls and support AI-driven drift detection. *Work on future-state initiatives involving Big Data technologies like Spark and Databricks. *Ensure data solutions support scalability, resiliency posture reporting, and infrastructure health monitoring. ________________________________________ Required Skills *Python, SQL *AWS RDS, AWS Lambda *Experience in enterprise data environments (banking preferred) ________________________________________ Preferred Skills *AWS Glue, Spark, Databricks *REST API development experience *Snowflake *AWS Solutions Architect Certification ________________________________________ Qualifications *6-10 years of data engineering experience *Strong understanding of data resiliency, network reliability, and scalable architecture *Growth mindset with willingness to learn and leverage AI for data insights ________________________________________ Success Criteria *Fully automated audit controls for the data pod *Enable self-service data access *Faster data delivery and trend visibility *Support resiliency posture reporting across teams *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * Scalability will need to able help here * There will be a lot of pulling from OneLake or Snowflake * Building out schemas in RDS * Big Data with Spark could be a part of future state * Using Lambdas most of the way *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
