POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in supporting our Jamestown, NY team by leading recruitment, employee relations, communication, and HR programs. You'll work closely with our Safety, Environmental & Compliance, Learning, Payroll, and Benefits teams to keep processes running smoothly and help us reach our goals. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead and support labor relations discussions, including grievances and arbitrations, while fostering positive relationships with union representatives and ensuring consistent application of the collective agreement.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment to fill roles efficiently and within budget; analyze exit interviews and employee feedback to recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the broader HR team to set and achieve goals aligned with the company's annual and NFI Group objectives.
  • Track, analyze, and report key HR metrics to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies by maintaining accurate records, conducting investigations, and representing the organization at hearings as needed.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to payroll regarding employee status changes, benefits, and retirement plans.
  • Manage workplace injury and disability claims, supporting safe and timely return-to-work processes.
  • Maintain confidential and organized employee records.
  • Contribute to company culture by planning and participating in employee events and serving as a positive ambassador at community activities.
  • Actively participate on the Safety Council and promote a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Partner with the NFI Group HR team to leverage shared services and best practices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a human resources leadership role, ideally with broad HR generalist experience.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practices, and labor relations principles, including experience supporting unionized environments and collective bargaining processes.
  • Proven ability to manage recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR programs effectively.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptable with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS/ATS systems an asset.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively within a manufacturing environment while also performing general office functions.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly valued; familiarity with Lean principles is an asset.
  • Minimal travel required.

Salary Range: $80,000 $95,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Standard Hours: - Days, hours - Mon - Fri 7:30 AM- 4:00PM
