JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for working to improve the observability, reliability, and risk mitigation practices as applied to the Company's internally developed solutions. Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Implements monitoring and alerting tools to ensure system reliability.

Optimizes systems for uptime, availability, and performance.

Designs and implements automation to reduce manual operations and technical debt.

Collaborates with Software Development teams and Architecture to interpret requirements and create non-functional backlog items.

Collaborates with Cross-Functional and Development teams to ensure system scalability, resilience, and the alignment of reliability goals.

Acts as a subject matter expert for one or more technologies within the reliability and operations space and takes the initiative to learn new ones.

Works alongside teams to identify service level indicators and objectives.

Participates in incident response.

Identifies potential efforts to mitigate risks.

Instruments code for metrics, traces, and telemetry.

Actively learns and adopts the SRE processes. best practices, and the technology and tools defined by the SRE team.

Challenges the SRE processes, looking for ways to improve them and contribute to incident post-mortems.

Upholds the SRE processes, while understanding the benefits and tradeoffs.

Demonstrates and strengthens agile values and principals with team and peers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

Five (5) or more years Software Development

Three (3) or more years Site Reliability Engineering

Four (4) or more years Agile team environments using scrum processes

SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent problem solving and time management skills including the ability to work independently

Proficient in Azure or similar cloud provider

Proficient in Azure DevOps or similar platform

Proficient in Datadog or similar monitoring platform

Proficient in Containerization and Container Orchestration

Familiar with Platform Engineering principles and Platform-as-a-Service

Familiar with Distributed Tracing analysis

Familiar with Incident Response practices

Proficient in application and workload performance, CI/CD processes and automation, cloud operations,
failure analysis, scalability and availability, access and identity, and security and networking

Proficient in monitoring such as APM, logging, tracing, alerting, visualization, and error budgets
