City/State Norfolk, VAWork Shift First (Days)Overview: Primary Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk, VA The Director, Clinical Risk is responsible for leading the Clinical Risk Management team within the market structure through System-level initiatives. Risk activities include, but are not limited to, data abstraction, analysis, and committee reporting to facilitate risk identification and mitigation strategy development. Provides oversight of clinical risk management activities within each of the Sentara Markets through continual evaluation and assessment to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness. Works collaboratively with Quality, Patient Safety, and other leadership across the Market to mitigate risk and identify opportunities to improve the quality of care and services while preventing harm. Responsible for CANDOR and disclosure process education, development, and assistance. Monitors the electronic incident reporting database in support of the Sentara Health event management process. Ensures that identified clinical risk issues occurring within the Market are communicated to Market and System Clinical Risk Management Leadership. Education/Experience

In addition to the high-quality heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital, our facility is home to Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and several other dedicated facilities and specialized services.
