PAY RANGE: $98,000 - 109,000

POSITION SUMMARY:
Vigor is one of the largest privately held companies in the Pacific Northwest. The Senior Financial Analyst will be in Vigor's corporate finance group. The role develops and prepares analyses and tools to monitor the operating and financial performance of Vigor & its affiliates. You will work on cross-functional teams to understand the business and its trends and be able to explain the story beneath the numbers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and make regular updates as well as periodic improvements to forecasts & financial analysis based on input from others.
  • Support the management team as a financial resource in various weekly, monthly & annual analysis requirements.
  • Assist in the review of monthly projects EAC's.
  • Review month-end revenue recognition, contract schedule, and overhead reports. Ensure differences are reconciled and understood.
  • Support the annual budget process through excel model development, cost research & analysis.
  • Assist Finance leadership in creating PowerPoint presentations for operational reviews, Board of Director meetings and similar events.
  • Proactively collaborate with the corporate accounting & finance organization on reporting, analysis & projects
  • Ad hoc analysis, as requested.


JOB SCOPE:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be in Vigor's corporate finance group. In this position you will have a high degree of exposure to Vigor's senior management.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Substantial experience in financial modeling
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, pivot tables
  • Experience with enterprise level ERP systems and BI tools (Admin level)
  • Ability to perform in depth analyses and reviews of large data sets from multiple sources
  • Analytical ability to research problem areas and make conclusions
  • Ability to deliver results in a team environment
  • Confidence to ask questions, intelligence to know which questions to ask


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • BA/BS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required (may be substituted with general business degree and appropriate level of experience).
  • MBA or related Master's degree is helpful but not required.
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities.
  • Financial modeling and analysis, budgeting, and/or accounting, preferably in a project based environment.
  • Experience with government accounting is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial performance of projects, analyze business problems, and communicate results of analysis.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and database query tool experience required.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
None required, but any relevant certifications are helpful.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. The person may be need to work more than 8 hours a day and/or on weekends. Good finger, hand and wrist dexterity required for extensive computer operations is required. He/she may spend extended periods of sitting in front of a computer terminal entering/manipulating data. The person may be required to lift up to 20 pounds. There may be out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 10% of the time with notice. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
