HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE...

The Packaging Engineer position has the responsibility of working closely with internal and external teams and stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement new Packaging technologies and applications for the Beverage and Channels category. This includes, primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging and will require an understanding of multiple packaging materials, configurations, and processing technologies. The role partners with cross-functional business teams, including Marketing, CCID, and Supply Chain, to evaluate new technologies and applications against the needs of consumers, the brands, and manufacturing capabilities. The role requires coordination and execution of multiple complex and multidisciplined projects with some supervision.

WHAT YOU WILL DO...

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop packaging components and systems to meet business, manufacturing, customer, and consumer needs.
  • Identify and drive cost savings opportunities, looking both at individual component level as well as process improvements and manufacturing efficiency gains.
  • Execute package testing and evaluation, including production line trials, to validate packaging performance.
  • Provide support to manufacturing during the implementation of commercialization activities and packaging changes.
  • Write technical specifications for packaging components and the final package. Review technical drawings for packaging components and participate in the packaging artwork approval process.
  • Leads and executes multiple simultaneous packaging projects, with some supervision, while building a working knowledge of technologies. This includes projects related to sustaining business base business, cost savings, continuous quality improvements, and innovation.
  • Builds cross-functional relationships to identify, evaluate, develop, and deliver packaging solutions.
  • Establishes, maintains, and leverages external network of packaging material and equipment vendors and co-manufacturing partners to identify Packaging trends and technology developments and evaluate them against the goals of the business.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH...

  • Internal partners: R&D, Marketing, CCID, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.

  • External partners: Packaging material and equipment vendors, co-manufacturers, and technology providers.

  • Reports to: Sr. Manager, R&D Packaging.

  • This role has no direct or indirect reports.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE... (MUST HAVE)

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 1+ years of experience in packaging development (co-op/internship experience strongly preferred).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE... (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Experience in high-volume food, consumer goods, or retail electronics industries.

  • Familiarity with a variety of packaging materials, configurations, and processing technologies.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$65,300-$93,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
