POSITION SUMMARY:

The UHT operator is responsible for the sterilization of the product and supplying the filling operation with product that meets specifications. This role is essential to ensure the food safety and sterility of the product. This includes milk standardization and operation of the multimaster and CIP skids.

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Select process order & verify recipe against manufacturing instructions.
  • Test and release scanima mix prior to use at the multimaster skid.
  • Monitor the UHT and multimaster skid operations.
  • Perform calibrations on equipment and processes.
  • Operate milk separator & cream pasteurization equipment.
  • Perform the sanitation of the equipment and area (includes disassembly and assembly of equipment).
  • Communicates with Ingredient Processing Operator & Filler Technician to ensure smooth operation.
  • Perform changeovers.
  • Conduct quality and regulatory checks on incoming materials, accurately record results and take action in case of deviation.
  • Monitor CPs (control points) and CCPs (critical control points).
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance and adhere to the quality standards outlined in the HACCP plan, QMS and other quality SOPs.
  • Pull product samples and perform quality inspections on the product and packaging as required.
  • Update and input data into SAP and other on-line tools.
  • Perform the sanitation, CIP, and SIP of the equipment and area (includes disassembly and assembly of equipment).
  • Take action and ensure that proper follow-up has taken place when quality defects occur.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance on the line and area (include basic lubrication, inspection, cleaning, tightening, measuring wear and other attributes, listening and observing line running).
  • Participate in review of the preventative maintenance plans.
  • Generate work orders in AMM.
  • Work with others to identify the root cause of downtime & ensure that downtime is accurately recorded in a downtime collection system such as SAM.
  • Work with your peers and the team to make recommendations on how to improve the operation to optimize production with positive contribution to all key plant indicators safety, quality, cost, and service.
  • Follow-up on issues to ensure that they are completed and that the issues are addressed.
  • Responsible for the operation and performance of the line or area.
  • Effectively and efficiently operate, adjust and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Utilize SPC and other tools and training to manage the process (includes equipment controls, net weights and operating parameters).
  • Work safely and report any unsafe situations.
  • Maintain Housekeeping.
  • Ensure that usage of ingredients and packaging material and labor hours are accurately recorded.
