Maintenance Mechanic - JLL

What this job involves

The Maintenance Mechanic supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. This role assists the Site Manager in maintenance and repair efforts while independently performing defined tasks. You'll be responsible for performing inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.

What your day-to-day will look like

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Performing ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and components

  • Conducting assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and operations

  • Handling general interior maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems and doors

  • Assisting the operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment as directed

  • Moving office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested

  • Replacing lighting and ballasts

  • Cleaning HVAC coils, changing filters and belts

  • Completing Hazard Assessments as necessary

  • Maintaining compliance with all safety procedures and good housekeeping practices

  • Submitting P-card receipts daily and updating work order status in real time

  • Utilizing CMMS systems for all work performed

  • Performing vehicle safety inspections

  • Escalating problems or issues to Customer and Manager in a timely manner

  • Attending work, training and safety meetings as required

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education

  • 1-3 years of building maintenance experience with strong mechanical background including gear box changes and mechanical switch operations.

  • Good knowledge of electrical systems and control wiring with hands-on experience

  • Very familiar with lock out and tag out procedures and safety protocols

  • Basic plumbing knowledge and general building repair experience

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work comfortably at heights up to 30 feet

  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs

  • HVAC maintenance experience including coil cleaning, filter changes, and belt replacement

  • Comfortable working in adverse conditions (extreme temperatures) and confined spaces

  • Ability to climb ladders while carrying tool bags and equipment

  • Experience with hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal procedures

  • Additional trade certifications or specialized equipment training

Location: Tucson, AZ

Work Schedule: Day Shift (10 hrs): Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday

Compensation: $28-36/hr. based on experience.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
