Overview Microsoft's United Nations and International Organizations team provides a unique opportunity to work in an international environment, build partnerships, and bring innovative solutions to global challenges. As part of this team you will work with the multilateral system on how technology can help solve global challenges, applying expertise, collaborating with partners, and driving multistakeholder action. As a Senior Director, UN and International Affairs in New York, you will have a portfolio of work in our engagement with the United Nations and other International Organizations. You will be responsible for shaping the company's engagement at events such as UNGA High-Level week, representing the company with external partners in International Organizations and with Diplomatic Missions, identifying and engaging with emerging policy issues, and advocating for the role of AI and Digital Technology to play a positive role for society and the economy. In particular, you would lead on engaging in discussions around the AI economy, including in how the benefits of AI can be diffused globally. You will develop and implement strategies to engage policy makers, and establish partnerships with stakeholders from governments, civil society and the private sector. You will work collaboratively with teams from across Microsoft, facilitating others in their engagement, and delivering a real contribution to the global agenda. ResponsibilitiesPeople Management: as part of the UNIO leadership, you will deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring. You will embody our culture and values. Strategy/Program Management: you will provide strategic vision and leadership for developing and executing top-priority program frameworks for engaging with major international convenings, such as UNGA High-Level week, and UN and other International Organization related events through the year. You will be engaged in devising and driving programming in the Microsoft office in New York, and partner with team members in Paris and Geneva. Subject Matter Expertise and Influence: working closely with UNIO's Senior Director for Policy, you will contribute to work with subject matter experts across Microsoft on policy positions on a broad range of issues at the UN and IOs, including designing and executing strategic campaigns. As a part of Microsoft Global Affairs you will develop and implement strategies for leveraging partnerships with partners and key influencers to advance Microsoft's long-term goals within the framework of the UN and IOs. External Relationships: You will be a key part of UNIO's externally facing communications, creating strategic partnerships and coalitions with thought leaders at the UN and other International Organizations (including peer and industry organizations, think tanks, academics, businesses, community leaders) to build multistakeholder approaches that support Microsoft priorities. You will drive strategic long-term, meaningful relationships with key political leadership and/or trade/think tank organizations and looks for opportunities to partner on public policy issues. Internal Collaboration: you will collaborate with, and influence, seinternal stakeholders and subject matter experts across Microsoft to ensure a mutual understanding and alignment of objectives, priorities, and resources.
