The Opportunity We are seeking a temporary Human Resources Project Assistant to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office. The Human Resources Project Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department and serves as a resource to all Firm personnel by responding to inquiries regarding Human Resources programs and/or Firm policies and procedures. The position utilizes various human resources software applications to complete personnel actions and works independently on assigned projects. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. The position will be filled on a temporary basis for approximately nine months (with the potential for up to twelve months).
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department including but not limited to the following:telephone and reception services, logistics for meetings, processing expense reports and department invoices, department filing, and distribution of department mail. Coordinates the business services professionals departure process. Participates in developing the Human Resources Department budget and annual business plan. Coordinates, monitors and reports on department budget including processing invoices for payment, tracking department expenses and completing data entry related budget functions. Tracks the authorization to work status for employees with temporary work permits and/visas. Updates I-9 forms and processing, as needed. Assists the Human Resources Project Manager in the annual job description audit process. Creates and maintains various sensitive and/or confidential files for the department and the Assistant Director, Human Resources. Responds to requests for business services professionals employment verifications. Coordinates business services professionals status changes including preparing related documents and updating HRIS. Provides logistical support for DC professional development programs and well-being programs. Maintains the Human Resources Department Annual Plan, Human Resources Department Outlook calendar, and DC Office events calendar. Coordinates Human Resources Department meetings. Assists the Human Resources Project Manager in maintaining the DC Office labor law postings board. Assists the Human Resources Project Manager in processing leaves of absence in HRIS. Monitors business services professionals absence management process in HRIS. Assists with troubleshooting and resolving business services professionals timecard issues. Coordinates tuition reimbursement program for business services professionals. Tracks the completion of the annual and interim check-in performance evaluation process. Coordinates the Washington Office sports teams. Coordinates the commuter benefits program for the Washington, DC Office according to department procedures. Collaborates with peer Human Resources Project Assistant in the coordination of DCO-wide charitable programs sponsored through the Human Resources Department. Collaborates with the Human Resources Team in the coordination of various Human Resources Department sponsored events. Regular and reliable physical presence. Provides project support to the Human Resources professionals, assists with other department functions, and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems Familiarity with or ability to learn human resources terminology and procedures Ability to develop routine correspondence Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality Ability to organize and prioritize work Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law. Salary Details $60,000 - $70,000
