Description

The Director of Ecommerce is a strategic leader responsible for the comprehensive management of the Company's online sales channels, including its website, mobile apps, and online marketplaces. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, marketing savvy, and strong leadership to drive revenue growth, optimize the customer journey, and enhance the overall digital brand presence.

Strategic Planning



  • Develop and execute a long-term, comprehensive ecommerce strategy that aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer behavior to identify new opportunities for online sales growth.
  • Manage the ecommerce budget and own the profit and loss (P&L) for all online channels.


Management



  • Establish goals and manage a team of ecommerce professionals, which may include digital marketing managers, web developers, and designers.
  • Communicate a clear strategic direction and connect team goals to the Company's mission.
  • Identify high-potential employees to build leadership pipelines by preparing future managers and executives.
  • Foster the Company's culture and values of Integrity, Responsibility and Humility.


Operations



  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the ecommerce website, ensuring an intuitive, secure, and user-friendly online shopping experience.
  • Manage inventory across all digital platforms, collaborating with the supply chain and logistics teams to prevent stockouts and ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Manage third-party vendor and platform relationships (e.g., Shopify, Amazon).


Marketing and Sales



  • Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to drive traffic, increase conversion rates, and boost customer acquisition and retention.
  • Implement various digital marketing tactics, including search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), email marketing, and social media.
  • Analyze sales performance, website traffic, and customer data to make data-driven decisions that optimize the ecommerce strategy.
  • Develop and manage promotional and merchandising strategies, such as bundling products and creating special online events.


User experience (UX) and optimization



  • Leverage data from analytics and UI/UX insights to continuously improve the online customer journey and increase key metrics like average order value (AOV) and conversion rate.
  • Oversee A/B testing strategies to inform decision-making and enhance website performance.
  • Ensure a consistent and seamless brand experience across all online platforms.



Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Experience



  • 7+ years of experience in ecommerce and/or digital leadership roles.
  • Proven record of driving revenue growth and improving profitability in a direct-to-consumer (DTC) or B2C environment; experience with B2B is a plus.
  • Experience with P&L management and sales forecasting.


Education



  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • An MBA is preferred.


Technical skills



  • Deep knowledge of ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) and digital marketing tools.
  • Strong understanding of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to interpret data and identify actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of SEO, web development processes, and cybersecurity best practices.


Soft skills



  • Excellent leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to set and execute long-term goals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
