Metal Painter - 1st Shift Location: Milwaukee, WI Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00/hour (Based on Experience) Schedule: Monday - Friday \| 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Fridays: Typically 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM (or until 2:00 PM with OT as needed) Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Metal Painter to join our 1st shift team. This role is primarily responsible for powder coating and occasional liquid spray painting of metal components in a booth environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safe painting practices, surface preparation, paint mixing, and proper equipment handling. Key Responsibilities: Apply powder paint coatings using spray booth equipment Perform occasional liquid painting using proper spray techniques Understand and follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements Read and interpret work orders and follow job-specific instructions Mix and prepare paints to meet job specifications Clean and maintain both powder and liquid paint guns after use Operate and maintain part cleaning and tank systems Use measurement tools such as tape measures and calipers to verify quality and finish requirements Identify materials and apply appropriate finishes as required Ensure proper application techniques and coating thickness for various metal products Maintain clean and organized work area Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent Basic math skills and the ability to read blueprints or work instructions Familiarity with industrial safety and proper body mechanics Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods Preferred: Experience with powder coating and/or liquid painting in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting Understanding of paint mixing, cleaning, and maintenance of painting equipment Previous experience with part cleaning and tank operation is a plus Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing and physical movement throughout the shift Repetitive motion tasks and use of hand tools Proper use of body mechanics and PPE to ensure safe operation
