Job Details ChristianaCare's Medical Group is looking to hire a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support our Oncology Express Unit at the Helen F. Graham Center in Newark, DE. The Oncology Express Unit, located on the first floor of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute, provides specialized, timely care for oncology patients experiencing treatment-related complications that would otherwise require an Emergency Department visit. This unit plays a vital role in improving the patient experience by delivering focused, efficient care in a supportive oncology setting. The Oncology Express Unit offers convenient evaluation and treatment for a variety of cancer-related concerns, including: Dehydration Blood transfusions Breathing difficulties Bacterial and viral illnesses Electrolyte imbalances and related infusions Staffed by an experienced team of oncology clinicians, the unit helps patients avoid long wait times and unnecessary testing while ensuring high-quality, compassionate care. Duties / Responsibilities: The *Medical Assistant I* greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access. Position Qualifications: High School Graduate or GED required. A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
