Position Summary:

The IT Field Services Technician provides in-person and remote support for Suffolk's core IT infrastructure and end-user technologies across the Florida East Coast, based in the Miami office with regular travel to offices and jobsites in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. This role is responsible for resolving Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical issues, supporting jobsite mobilizations, and ensuring the readiness and reliability of IT equipment at both regional offices and active construction sites. The Technician plays a critical role in onboarding, equipment setup, and maintaining high levels of service and responsiveness, particularly for VIP users and job-critical systems.



Responsibilities

    Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical issues, escalating more complex problems to Field Services Engineers.
  • Provide onsite support for desktop computing, network access, wireless, mobile devices and A/V systems at both regional offices and construction jobsites.
  • Respond to service requests related to jobsite mobilization, including setup of Internet, firewalls/switches, wireless access points, copiers and other infrastructure.
  • Support VIP and executive users, ensuring timely and professional service for high-priority requests.
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding tasks including workstation configuration, hardware delivery/setup, and decommissioning.
  • Document issue resolution steps and contribute to SOP development and maintenance.
  • Ensure all hardware and software assets are tracked in ServiceNow and inventory systems are up to date.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete project-related support tasks within defined scope.
  • Travel regularly to job sites as needed, maintaining strong field presence and communication.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on technical support experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft environments (including Windows 11, Active Directory, and Office 365), networking, and basic troubleshooting principles
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize work, thriving both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Must be comfortable with regional travel
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds


Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
